I first fell in love with the authentic floors and the elegant arch, and right after that with the natural daylight streaming in. On sunny days, I throw the windows wide open to enjoy an afternoon aperitif in the sun — a truly happy moment.
What also makes this place so special is the beautiful balance between liveliness and tranquility: at the front, you look out over the square, with its stunning classical façade. There is always something to see, and it’s easy to get lost in watching life go by, while at the back you find peace and quiet.
For me, this is a pied-à-terre, but every time I close the door behind me knowing I have to wait a week to return, it feels like a small loss. It’s simply a place where it’s wonderful to be. The open connection between the kitchen and living room also makes it a great place to cook and dine with friends. You’re always together, always connected.
And then, of course, there’s the location: by bike, you can reach Harmoniepark, the Zuid district, or a terrace at Mechelseplein in no time. In short, I hope to pass this place on to someone who will enjoy it, day in and day out, just as much as I have.
